Northrop Grumman Space and Siemens Digital Industries Software Keynotes Announced for Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis
Two newly announced keynote speakers at Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis will explore progress in manufacturing and aerospace thanks to advanced technologies. Returning October 16-17 with a robust lineup of speakers and more than 550 exhibitors, the event brings together five expos: Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M), Automation Technology Expo (ATX), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), MinnPack, and Plastec Minneapolis.
“Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis is more than just a gathering of industry professionals but a celebration of innovation emerging from this region and the pivotal role the Midwest plays in shaping the future of engineering and manufacturing,” says Suzanne Deffree, group event director, Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis.
Keynotes by Northrop Grumman Space and Siemens Digital Industries Software
Keynote presentations open to all attendees will be presented by Dr. Jonathan Arenberg, chief mission architect for science & robotic missions at Northrop Grumman Space; and Rahul Garg, vice president of industrial machinery at Siemens Digital Industries Software.
Arenberg will speak October 17 at 1:15 pm in the Engineering Theater, presenting “Sensors in Space: Learnings from Designing NASA’s James Webb Telescope.” Arenberg has led major astronomical programs and development of optical, space, and laser systems over his 30-year career, and during his talk he will share the significant role sensors played in developing the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). He'll also share stunning images captured by the JWST. Design News caught up with Arenberg after his DesignCon keynote earlier this year.
Garg will speak October 16 at 1:15 in the Engineering Theater, presenting “Digitalization: The Key to Accelerating the Future of Manufacturing.” He will explore how tools such as AI, XR, and digital twins are transforming product design, manufacturing, service delivery, and more and share their potential to advance technological infrastructure. Garg draws on 25 years of experience delivering software-based solutions for the global manufacturing industry.
“The keynotes will provide invaluable perspectives on the forefront of aerospace and digital tools, emphasizing how these advancements are revolutionizing our field and will continue to do so in the future,” says Deffree.
Previously announced keynote speakers include Pat Baird of Philips, who will explore the rapid growth of AI in medtech; and Amy Alexander of Mayo Clinic, who will share the progress of 3D printing/additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D scanning in healthcare.
