Remember When the First iPhone Was Unveiled?
Apple unveiled the latest versions of its iPhone, the 16, earlier this week. Over the years, Apple has made significant upgrades in the hardware and software comprising its iPhones, improving the processors, displays, memory, and of course the operating system. The yearly iPhone introductions have served as a timeline tracing the rapid progress in electronics.
But do you remember the unveiling of the original iPhone? During the Macworld San Francisco keynote address on January 9th, 2007, the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs discussed his vision for the iPhone, boldly declaring that the phone was five years ahead of its time and would revolutionize portable communications forever. While not everyone may have believed Jobs back then, his words did become true as the iPhone is arguably the invention that thrusted smartphones into the mainstream and become a do-it-all, must have device for people of all ages and all walks of life.
