Lamborghini Showcases the New Temerario’s Improved Aluminum Chassis
Lamborghini is teasing us with technical details of the new Temerario, the company’s entry-level model that replaces the Huracan. Where the Huracan featured a 631-horsepower 5.2-liter naturally aspired V10 engine, the Temerario will use a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and a trio of axial-flow electric motors to deliver a total system power of 907 horsepower.
Lamborghini boasts that this new V8 engine spins to 10,000 rpm, which the company says is the first and only super sports car engine to do so.

Such an increase in power demands a corresponding increase in chassis strength to withstand it, which has been outlined by Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini.
“The Temerario is built on a new body-in-white, specifically engineered and developed with a new multi-technology aluminum spaceframe approach in order to withstand the higher forces from the new hybrid power unit, guaranteeing excellent mechanical properties together with efficiency and weight reductions,” Mohr explained.
“The new spaceframe adopts over 50 percent fewer components compared to the same parameters for Huracan,” he continued. “In addition, the Temerario incorporates a significant reduction in the number of heat welds; over 80 percent less total welding length.”

The result of that is a stronger and lighter frame, Mohr said. “The new construction archetype has therefore allowed increases in torsional stiffness of around 25 percent compared to the previous-generation spaceframe, making a significant contribution to the excellent driving dynamics of the Temerario.”
For now, we’re left waiting until the next tech update from Lamborghini to learn more about the Temerario, but hopefully we will drive the car soon to experience these results for ourselves.
