Avnet Introduces Autodesk Fusion Integration to Streamline Design Workflow
At Autodesk University 2024, Avnet announced the launch of its Avnet App. It is now available as an add-in for Autodesk Fusion. With the Avnet App, design engineers get the capability to access thousands of reference design schematics, lead time and pricing trends, and fast alternative guidance.
For those utilizing Autodesk Fusion’s cloud-based 3D modeling engineering solution, the Avnet add-in intends to help streamline design workflow and help design engineers meet cost targets and manufacturing goals. “We exist to do three things: offer the latest technology, make sure whatever you design costs what your market accepts, and make sure the lifecycle will transfer into a product you won’t have to redesign in two years,” Chris Jackson, VP of digital strategy and innovation at Avnet told Design News. “This app helps us do that.”
According to Jackson, the app comes with no cost to users. “It’s free. You just open it in the Autodesk App Store,” said Jackson. “Inside you will find that at the moment there are over 700 schematic designs.”
Bringing Avnet parts search to Autodesk
Jackson noted that Avnet is the first to add these design capabilities and insights via a globally available add-in to Autodesk Fusion. He explained that the Avnet App was designed to give design engineers access to a powerful part search, alternates library, project cost and supply chain health analysis, datasheets, component symbols and more.

Autodesk Fusion is a cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, PCB and mechanical engineering solution for product design and manufacturing. “As a key technology partner in the early stages of design and product realization, Avnet provides engineers with valuable tools through the app,” said Jackson. “The reference design library is full of schematics and project descriptions that engineers can directly place into their designs with a simple in-app search in as few as three clicks.”
